Vasiliy graduated from the Novosibirsk State Conservatoire named after M.I. Glinka, and beside his musical education is as well a qualified music teacher.   Vassily’s first performances were as a soloist and accompanist in the Altai Philharmonic with the chamber orchestra of the city of Barnaul, as well as together with the state orchestra of Siberia.

Numerous performances on the stages of Germany, the Old Opera of Frankfurt am Main, the Munich Gasteig, the Berlin Schlosspark Theater, the National Theater of Mannheim, the Bremen Theater and many others are remembered for their brilliant virtuosic play and improvisations of extraordinary beauty.  

In 2007, Vassily won the prize at the regional competition “Creole” – for world music from Germany, in the same year he was awarded with the “Premio e Concorso Internazionale Fisarmonica” prize in Castelfidardo, Italy, and in 2008 won the first prize at the Astor Piazzolla festival in Lanchaano, Italy.

The French chanson comes to life with the organic and bewitching sounds of Vassily’s accordion. The first theatrical project, Piaf, which premiered at the Theater of Bielefeld in 2002, and later at the Mannheim Theater, saw a sensational success in Germany.  

Vassily is a curator and accordionist in the cultural center “Die Fabrik” in Frankfurt am/ Main. Recordings of Vassily can be found on ZDF / 3sat, as well as on ARD, HR and WDR radio stations.

Repertoire:

Vassily’s musical expression and virtuosity are based on a vivid interest in various music styles and genres: from the musical works of Toccata and Fugue in D minor by Bach, to the Tango Argentino of Piazzolla and his own works in like Orient-Wals and Kutchuk-Tango.

Vassily works as soloist as well in ensemble with many musicians, composes his own music and makes his own arrangements.
